Portable Printers for Notebook Computers

Of course, not all printers need to be large in order to be functional and indeed, there are many cases where you want portable laptop computer printers, such as if you like to work on the go or if you just want something small to share space with your work desk.  However, portable notebook printers are most often used by those who end up doing a lot of work while they travel like students, writers and business people.  This is why they have to be small, lightweight and sturdy.  Unfortunately, small printers still come with a large price tag, but as they grow more common place and more companies produce them, they drop in price, so if you really need one, you can get one without breaking your budget too badly.

The best portable printers depend entirely on your preferences, though popular demand ranges between Cannon and HP, depending on how much money you have (the Canon iP series is more expensive) and what you are going to use the printer for.  HP is heavier than Canon, but able to do more while Canon is much lighter, but more expensive.  Most of the major companies of small printers now make inkjet printers that are travel size, so you don't have to worry too much about that consideration; the main points are how well they print, how quickly they print and how much they cost and Canon and HP fight for dominance on these, with Epson not too far behind.   It's all a matter of what you want to spend and really which company you prefer to work with since they all make good portable printers anyway.

Portable printers at base cost are usually a couple hundred dollars, though if you want to add a battery and bluetooth compatibility, you'll have to pay more for it.  If you just want the basic travel printer though, you may find that both Canon and HP are roughly similar in price, though HP wins out if you add in all of the accessories.  The ink for these printers is also a bit less efficient; you won't get as high quality as you would with a full size printer, though if you are mostly using it to print text or basic pictures, it shouldn't matter too much anyway.  They are inkjet printers, so you do get a better level of quality than one which isn't inkjet anyway.  Portable printers that are used for printing photos or larger documents are of course larger, but if you want a tiny printer for just black and white print outs and small things, you can get almost palm sized printers.

Portable printers also benefit from being USB printers; they are small enough to take anywhere which means they can hook up with other printers and other computers with ease and can be used as hubs or just through a USB for a closer connection without a lot of wires getting underfoot.

At the moment you cannot get a multi-task printer; there is just no way to make something like a scanner/printer/copier into anything compact enough to call it a travel machine, but perhaps sometime in the next few years, this level of technology will be achieved.  In the meantime, you can enjoy the benefits of having inkjet portable printers for notebook computers to take with you if you travel frequently and still want to keep a hard copy record of work or other things you want while you travel.

If you enjoy traveling and want to keep up with your work, whether it's for a job, or writing or graphic work, then you should look into portable laptop computer printers.  They are light at between four and nine pounds, they deliver nice print outs and they can be easily hooked up to your or other computers via USB or even wirelessly.  And while they may still be a bit expensive now, they will come down in price as more companies produce them and more people buy them, so you may just have to wait a little if you're on a budget.  They are a fun piece of electronics to have if you travel and even if you don't, you may not mind a lower quality printer that takes up only a bit of space.  All in all, a portable laptop computer printer is well worth looking into.
